Jill Mandel, SLP

 

Jill Mandel, M.S., M.S.Ed., CCC-SLP joined Speech Therapy Plus in February 2025. She earned her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from Teachers College, Columbia University, in 1999. Prior to that, she completed a Master of Science in Education with a certification in Special Education for the Hearing Impaired from Hunter College, City University of New York, in 1997.

Jill has experience working with diverse populations, from toddlers to geriatrics, across various settings, such as schools, home-based therapy, outpatient clinics, and rehabilitation centers. She has worked with individuals with a wide range of speech and language needs, such as aphasia, articulation disorders, hearing impairments, and Parkinson's. Jill is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with her clients, fostering trust and collaboration to create a supportive therapy environment. She works closely with individuals and their families to develop personalized treatment plans that equip them with the skills and confidence to achieve their communication goals and enhance their quality of life.

Jill is passionate about lifelong learning and has received two National ACE Awards from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association for completing 70+ hours of continuing education within a three-year period.

Jill is certified in LSVT LOUD, the Compton P-ESL Accent and Pronunciation Instruction Method, and Hanen It Takes Two to Talk®. She is also PROMPT-trained and knowledgeable in American Sign Language. Additionally, she has completed extensive coursework in oral motor therapy, including Beckman Oral Motor Techniques, Talk Tools programs, and strategies by Char Boshart and Nancy Kaufman.

A native New Yorker, Jill Mandel relocated to Houston in January 2022. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and dog. Her hobbies include traveling, reading, and practicing yoga.
