Tammye Crawford

Tammye Crawford graduated from the University of Houston in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders. Her interest in communication disorders came after having a daughter born hearing impaired and experiencing several years of speech therapy.

After graduating from UH, she worked at Texas Women’s Hospital in the newborn hearing-screening program. Tammye performed hearing tests on newborns to help ensure early detection.

In 2017, she joined Fort Bend ISD in the SAILS/Special Education department at Clements High School. She works with verbal and non-verbal Autism, Downs Syndrome, and other health impaired children to become independent individuals and use their Alternative Communication Devices when needed.

Tammye joined Speech Therapy Plus in September 2019. Her passion for becoming an SLPA stemmed from her daughter’s personal growth experience and wanted to help other children achieve their speech goals. The excitement on their faces when a sound is achieved is priceless!

In her spare time, Tammye loves to spend time with family, watch her son play college football, and watch her daughter ride on the equestrian team at Texas Tech. She also loves to read and scrapbook.
